High Impact PolyStyrene (HIPS) is a plastic with a very good impact strength and dimensional stability. This versatile material is widely used in food packaging, toys and consumer electronics. As a 3D printing material this particular HIPS grade has been developed for easy printability.

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene is a strong plastic that is very familiar to many manufacturers. ABS is used in a very wide array of applications from LEGO bricks to automotive to the electronics industry. This grade has been developed to have good processing characteristics for 3D printing and low warping.

PET G is a copolymer of PET. Polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified as it is known has been created specifically for thermoforming and extrusion. It is a very durable, has high chemical resistance, is hydrophobic, high impact resistance, is lightweight and fully recyclable.

Polylactic acid is the most popular 3D printing material for desktop 3D printers for makers. The material is a corn derived bioplastic which could be composted should one have the correct facilities.

PA 12

Polyamide 12 is a very widely used engineering plastic. Especially in the automotive industry PA 12 (also known as Polyamide 12, Nylon 12, polylaurolactam and available under the brand names Rilsan, Grilamid and Vestamid) has wide ranging applications and is used throughout the industry.
